South Africa’s electrical manufacturing industry is set to experience measurable future growth after Proof Africa client Siemens AG announced its investment in a local manufacturer of medium power transformers serving utility, industry and municipalities.

Siemens has signed a local manufacturing agreement with a black industrialist company that manufactures transformers and miniature substations. The partnership is a major milestone in Siemens’ localisation initiatives and part of  government’s multi-billion-rand Black Industrialist Programme. The investment will create jobs and bring new technology capability to South African industry.
