PRN partner, Proof Africa, has supported the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation for more than five years, promoting the prize and its 72 alumni in 28 African countries.

Each year the competition selects and supports 16 African inventors working on innovative engineering technologies. Africa Prize alumni are projected to deliver benefits to more than three million people in the next five years, improving access to water, energy, housing, healthcare, finance and communication services.

The prestigious Africa Prize, and its associated business training programme, is run by the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering, providing African innovators with more than 1,800 hours of mentorship and training.

Proof encourages entrepreneurs to enter the Africa Prize and provides tailored communication and media training to finalists. Active promotion has generated more than 1,300 media hits, helping Africa Prize alumni to raise $13.5 million in grants and equity.
