A big round of applause for open up

open up Switzerland once again had the honour to be ranked number 1 in this year’s Swiss classification of communication agencies. The dimension of openness in collaboration with their customers plays an active role in content relevance. The journalists’ commentaries are an expression of appreciation of their efforts and show that they are on the right track when it comes to communications and public relations:

“They have been good for years, they get to the heart of stories.”

“They are also good as sparring partners, showing two sides of a coin to every story.”

This isn’t the only reason for open up to celebrate. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the agency, a milestone that is a measure of their success and reflects on a journey through 20 years in communications. The Zurich-based proprietor-run company consults companies and organizations in all aspects of communication with an emphasis on long-term content strategy. Along with its 14 employees and over 100 customers, partners and long-time friends, the anniversary was celebrated in September under the motto “Time and World Travel” in the new premises of the agency – a former hall of the post office – and on the rooftop terrace at Helvetiaplatz.

Founded in 2001 by Kilian Borter and Urs Thaler, the PR agency has grown from a two-man agency to a mid-sized company and consults prestigious clients. The basis of the agency’s work is creating and preparing journalistic content. While 20 years ago the focus was on copywriting services and media relations, these days the backbone of convincing corporate communications is providing holistic advice regardless of the channel: earned, owned or shared media. The agency is now led by partners Kilian Borter and Melanie Schneider, who have been co-owners for 10 years. They currently have around 60 clients on their books on an annual mandate and project basis.
