Proof Africa is taking to the road on a 2000km race by cars powered only by the sun. The Sasol Solar Challenge runs from Pretoria to Cape Town over eight days in September as a demonstration of technical ingenuity and how future vehicles may run on solar power. Teams from all over the world will compete in the race, which serves as a test bed for solar power research and development.
