Changing Transport in a Changing World
With the ever-increasing damage caused by carbon emissions, transport has come under scrutiny as one of the most inefficient fuel burning industries in the world. In South Africa, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) works with local government to foster a strong alternative transport industry.
Supported by Proof Africa, the Low Carbon Transport project of South Africa (LCT-SA) works with municipalities to plan cycle and pedestrian lanes, supports the electric vehicle industry, helps fill research gaps for policy makers and promotes the benefits of a more sustainable way of moving people and goods.
Proof Africa developed LCT-SA’s communication plan and facilitates stakeholder engagement, and is also involved in the Electric Vehicle Industry Association’s expert group on communication.
